Disney præsenterer nyt fra Lucasfilm, Marvel, Pixar, 20th Century mm.

På sin årlige D23-messe præsenterede Disney kommende titler, trailere og andet nyt fra sine mange studier. Bl.a. The Mandalorian sæson 3, Pixars Elemental og flere Marvel-serier.

Disney ejer i dag Lucasfilm (Star Wars), Marvel Studios, Pixar og 20th Century Studios, og der var så mange indslag på D23, at præsentationen var fordelt over to dage. Budskabet fra selskabet: Har man Disney+ eller er biografgænger, så er der masser at se frem til.

The Mandalorian sæson 3 kommer i 2023 og traileren kan ses i oversigten nedenfor, hvor vi har samlet højdepunkterne. Samme år kommer bl.a. Indiana Jones 5 (juni 2023), Loki sæson 2, Peter Pan & Wendy, The Little Mermaid (maj 2023), Pixars Elemental (juni 2023) og Pixars Win or Lose (efteråret 2023).

I 2024 kommer bl.a. Pixars Inside Out 2, MUFASA: The Lion King og Marvels Fantastic Four.

Det blev desuden bekræftet, at sæson 33 af The Simpsons starter den 5. oktober på Disney+.


Pixar film i biograferne?

Mens de fleste titler allerede har fået premierevej, enten på Disney+ eller i biograferne, så vil selskabet ikke afsløre, hvordan de næste Pixar-film får premiere. Tre Pixar-film i træk fik under corona direkte premiere på Disney+, mens en fjerde (Lightyear) ikke formåede at trække folk tilbage i de mørke sale. Disney satser stort på franchises i kampen om at blive den førende streamingtjenester. Disney har nu samlet set – med tre tjenester – flere streamingabonnenter end Netflix, men Netflix er stadig den største tjeneste.

Nyhederne fra Disney på D23 2022

LUCASFILM Andor Upcoming 24-episode spy thriller. The era featured in Andor—the five years before the events of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story—is filled with danger, deception, and intrigue, where Cassian Andor will embark on the path that is destined to turn him into a rebel hero. Much to the delight of the assembled crowd, Luna and his costars unveiled a final trailer for the series. The series presents Star Wars from a different perspective, focusing on everyday people whose lives are affected by the Empire. The decisions they make have real consequences, and the stakes for them—and the galaxy—couldn’t be higher. The series debuts with three episodes on Disney+ on September 21.
Willow Set in a magical world where brownies, sorcerers, trolls, and other mystical creatures flourish, Willow is the story of an unlikely group of heroes who set off on a dangerous quest, facing their inner demons and coming together to save their world. An epic period fantasy told with a modern sensibility and plenty of humor and heart, Willow begins streaming on Disney+ November 30.
Star Wars: The Bad Batch The upcoming 16-episode second season of the animated series Star Wars: The Bad Batch. Months have passed since the events on Kamino, and the Bad Batch continue their journey navigating the Empire after the fall of the Republic. They’ll cross paths with friends and foes, both new and familiar, as they take on a variety of thrilling mercenary missions that will take them to unexpected and dangerous new places. And revealed today: The series will begin streaming on Disney+ with a two-episode premiere on January 4, 2023. Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi six brand-new animated shorts featuring parables built around Jedi from the prequel era. Journey into the lives of two distinctly different Jedi—Ahsoka Tano and Count Dooku—who will each be put to the test as they make choices that will define their destinies. All six shorts will debut October 26 on Disney+.
Ahsoka Ahsoka is a new live-action series heading to Disney+. Set after the fall of the Empire, Ahsoka follows the former Jedi knight Ahsoka Tano as she investigates an emerging threat to a vulnerable galaxy. The new series is slated for 2023 and will be exclusive to Disney+. The Mandalorian Season 3 In the third season of The Mandalorian, the Mandalorian and Grogu have been reunited and continue their journey through the lawless galaxy. Season 3 is set to launch exclusively on Disney+ in 2023.
MARVEL STUDIOS Black Panther: Wakanda Forever The much-anticipated follow-up to 2018’s Black Panther. Look for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever in theaters November 11. Ironheart Dominique Thorne returns as Riri Williams, a young, genius inventor determined to make her mark on the world. Her unique take on building iron suits is both brilliant and flawed—and Ironheart delves into the dynamics of tech versus magic. The new series is slated for Disney+ in 2023. Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania Super Hero partners Scott and Hope, who team up with Hope’s parents, Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) and Janet Van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer)—as well as Scott’s daughter, Cassie (Kathryn Newton) – explores the Quantum Realm, interacting with strange new creatures and embarking on an adventure that’ll push them beyond the limits of what they thought was possible. Hitting theaters February 17, 2023, the film connects to Avengers: The Kang Dynasty, Feige announced. Werewolf by Night Marvel Studios’ first-ever special presentation, created for this Halloween: Werewolf by Night, directed by Michael Giacchino. The special starts streaming on Disney+ this October 7.
Secret Invasion A thrilling new event series that showcases a faction of shapeshifting Skrulls who have been infiltrating Earth for years.
Loki Season 2 Picking up in the aftermath of the shocking season finale when Loki finds himself in a battle for the soul of the Time Variance Authority Season 2 of Loki begins streaming on Disney+ in 2023. Fantastic Four Matt Shakman—who directed every episode of 2021’s WandaVision and who was in the Hall D23 audience—will be directing Fantastic Four. The film opens in theaters on November 8, 2024. Daredevil: Born Again Production isn’t underway yet on the 18-episode Disney+ series. Captain America: New World Order Captain America: New World Order, continuing Sam Wilson’s journey as Captain America, is in a brand-new film coming to theaters in 2024. Thunderbolts Thunderbolts opens in theaters on July 26, 2024. The Marvels Opens in theaters on July 28, 2023. 20TH CENTURY STUDIOS Avatar: The Way of Water the highly anticipated sequel to the biggest film of all time, Avatar. Opens in theaters in December 2022. Indiana Jones 5 Fifth installment of the immensely popular Indiana Jones franchise—which opens in theaters June 30, 2023. WALT DISNEY STUDIOS Hocus Pocus 2 It’s been 29 years since someone lit the Black Flame Candle and resurrected the 17th century Sanderson sisters, and they are looking for revenge. Now it is up to three high school students to stop the ravenous witches from wreaking a new kind of havoc on Salem before dawn on All Hallow’s Eve. Hocus Pocus 2 premieres Friday, September 30, exclusively on Disney+.
Disenchanted In Disenchanted, it has been 15 years since Giselle (Adams) and Robert (Dempsey) wed, but Giselle has grown disillusioned with life in the city. So, they move their growing family to the sleepy suburban community of Monroeville in search of a more fairy tale life. Unfortunately, it isn’t the quick fix she had hoped for.The upcoming feature film debuts Friday, November 24, exclusively on Disney+.
Peter Pan & Wendy The new film dives deeper into Wendy’s story as she joins the boy who refuses to grow up on a magical journey to Neverland and reveals the history behind Peter Pan’s rivalry with one of Disney’s most memorable villains. Bbegins streaming on Disney+ in 2023. Haunted Mansion Inspired by the classic theme park attraction, Haunted Mansion is about a woman and her son who enlist a motley crew of so-called spiritual experts to help rid their home of supernatural squatters. MUFASA: The Lion King MUFASA: The Lion King, a prequel to The Lion King, won’t release until 2024, but director Barry Jenkins was on hand to show a never-before-seen sneak peek and share a little about the film, which is currently in production. Told in flashbacks—Rafiki, Timon, and Pumbaa tell the story of Mufasa to a young lion cub—Mufasa reveals the rise of one of the greatest kings of the Pride Lands. Snow White Who is the fairest of them all? The live-action reimagining of the classic tale stars Rachel Zegler in the title role and Gal Gadot as Snow White’s Stepmother, The Queen. Coming in 2024. The Little Mermaid Swimming onto the big screen in May 2023, Halle Bailey stars as Ariel in the live action adaptation of the beloved animated classic film.
PIXAR Elemental Set in a city where fire-, water-, land- and air-residents live together. An all-new, original feature film releasing on June 16, 2023. Win or Lose The series follows the Pickles, a co-ed middle school softball team, in the week leading up to their championship game. Each episode takes place that same week, highlighting the perspective of a different main character—players, their parents, the umpire—each reflected in a unique visual style. Ein or Lose streams on Disney+ in Fall 2023. Elio In the story, 11-year-old dreamer Elio is artistic, creative and an avid indoorsman who finds it hard to fit in. Meanwhile, Mom Olga, who runs a top-secret military project, is working to decode a strange signal from outer space. But it’s Elio who makes contact, gets beamed into space and is subsequently mistaken for an intergalactic Ambassador for Earth. Elio releases Spring 2024. Inside Out 2 The all-new adventure inside the head of now-teenager Riley—who may or may not be feeling all kinds of new Emotions. Inside Out 2, the follow-up to 2015’s Oscar- and Golden Globe®-winning feature film, is slated for release Summer 2024. WALT DISNEY ANIMATION STUDIOS Zootopia+ New series Zootopia+ launching on Disney+ November 9. Iwájú Coming to Disney+ in 2023, Iwájú is an all-new original long-form series created in collaboration with Pan-African comic book entertainment company Kugal. Strange World The film about an incredible family who must get past their differences to save a strange world full of danger and surprises. The film premieres in theaters November 23, 2022. Wish About 17-year-old Asha—an optimist with a sharp wit who cares endlessly about her community. In a moment of desperation, Asha makes an impassioned plea to the stars, which is answered by a cosmic force, a little ball of boundless energy called Star. Together, they face the most formidable of foes to save her community and prove that when the will of one courageous human connects with the magic of the stars, wondrous things can happen. Wish is set to release Fall 2023. The Santa Clauses Scott Calvin (Allen) is on the brink of his 65th birthday and realizing that he can’t be Santa forever. He’s suddenly starting to lose his Santa magic—and, more importantly, he’s got a family who could benefit from a life in the normal world, especially his two kids who have grown up at the North Pole. With a lot of elves, children, and family to please, Scott sets out to find a suitable replacement Santa while preparing his family for a new adventure in a life south of the pole. The first two episodes launch November 16 on Disney+ with new episodes airing weekly thereafter.
National Treasure: Edge of History The series premieres with the first two episodes on December 14, exclusively on Disney+.
